Pitch
Purpose
An immersive shower system that taps into a user’s sensations to create an engaging virtual experience, whether a user needs to energise their morning, or find a way to relax as they end their day in the evening. This shower system offers users with a wide range of ambient experiences with the help of LED lights, waterproof speakers, aromatic diffusers, voice control, temperature control, and other features that can be adjusted and controlled by a touch screen pad.
Intended audience
This system will be used by busy individuals who want to go beyond just a normal shower experience. These users appreciate every moment that they have in the shower, and they want to make the most of these few minutes they spend in there to relieve stress, and let go of all the business and worries that they carry throughout the day.
Accessibility considerations
According to research, more than half of the world’s population uses prescription eyeglasses on a daily basis due to common problems such as myopia or hyperopia which causes objects to look blurry. When it comes to showering, these users usually remove their eyeglasses and store them away.
If I were to design a touchscreen pad to control the entire system, I will have to consider these users who will not have 100% vision when taking a shower. I can come up with solutions such as a voice control to adjust key settings, or the use of icons and images over texts so that users can make out what each control does without having to strain their eyes while reading texts on the screen.
